In a four-minute interview with the Oregonian, Republican candidate for governor, Lorraine Mae Rafferty, compared same-sex marriage with murder:
“I would have to say, I definitely believe that that is wrong. I believe it’s a sin, just the same as murder’s a sin,”Part of Lorraine Mae Rafferty's ignorance may stem from the fact that she is paranoid, has trouble with grammar, spelling and editing as is evidenced by a quick scan of her "vote for me" website.~Lorraine Mae Rafferty GOP candidate for Governor of Oregon
Sanction Same Sex Marriage No No No(Bold emphasis by me)
On the topic of voting for or against same sex marriage, we have been there done that. Not to many years ago this was on the ballot and Oregon said we as a state do not believe that people of the same sex should be sanctioned as married by the state. "They" did not like our answer so the state legislature undermined our votes and passed legislation allowing for domestic partnerships giving them the exact same rights as a married couple. If I had time to research who in the legislature caused this arrangement to pass, I would make it public. Representatives who undermine the vote of the people when the people have voted for what is obviously the right side, should not be re-elected. No I do not support same sex marriage it a sin, and the very acceptance of it by society is a violation of innocent minds.
"it a sin" ... ut oh!! ... "it a sin"
Ok, now look, clearly this woman is getting her hate toward gays from humping some bible of which she does not fully understand.
What I mean is this: to me, by all appearances, Jesus of the bible lived as an openly gay man. He lived with 12 men, slept with 12 men and lovingly washed the feet of 12 men. So, was Jesus gay? I have no idea, nor do I care. Was Jesus bi-sexual? I have no idea, nor do I care. But I will say that if Jesus were in Oregon today and lived with 12 men, slept with 12 men & lovingly washed the feet of those 12 men ... I have a hunch Mae Rafferty would call Jesus a sinner for his lifestyle.
Not only that, but those 12 men Jesus lived with, walked around telling other people how much they love Jesus and that others should love Jesus as much as they do ... soooo ... as I said, I have a hunch Mae Rafferty would call Jesus and the 12 men he lived with sinners for their lifestyle.
To me the irony of religious zealots is that they pray to a man, Jesus, who they equate to being their "god" and who lived with 12 men, slept with 12 men and lovingly washed the feet of those 12 men ... yet these same people loathe and despise men who love & live with other men and women who love & live with other women.
I am not saying Jesus was or was not gay -- we simply do not know and I simply do not care. But, by today's Rightwinged Bible Humping Standards, Jesus's lifestyle would have been viewed by those religious zealots as an openly gay lifestyle ... and ... to top it off, they would have screamed "blasphemy" if they had heard the 12 men Jesus lived with saying 'don't call us sinners for living with Jesus we love & live with Jesus because Jesus is the Messiah.'
This woman is bat-sh't crazy, paranoid and terrible at editing. I have listed her platform that she has published on her website. Notice the paranoia and misspellings:
Mae Rafferty for Oregon Governor 2014(Bold emphasis by me.)Keep communist business out of Oregon
Insist public schools promote American Patriotism or loose State funds
Swiftly instigate generous wise deregulation of industry.
Healthy agriculture no GMO seed sales in Oregon
Taxes and Tyranny
Just say No to The unaffordable Affordable Health Care Act
Back the Governor with a all Constitutional staff
Organize a Militia as in our State Constitution
Strive for a Sovereign Debt Free Oregon
Guard private property rights
Assert public property is public not federal
Restructure the Public Employee Retirement System
Instigate a State Self Sufficiency plan
Legislate morality "YES"
Manage the forest to keep fires from escalation.
Look, we all are guilty of misspellings. I am. There have been plenty of times when people reading one of my diaries points out a misspelling so I correct it. However, a misspelling on a candidate for Governor's website is more than just a "misspelling" and to me it is a sign that the candidate might be a wee bit under-educated.
"loose" state funding or "lose" state funding?
"with a all Constitutional staff" or "with an all Constitutional staff?"
And, what the heck does "all Constitutional staff,""public schools promote American Patriotism" and "Legislate morality" even mean?
