January 27, 2017 Trump told Mexico’s President, “I have to have Mexico pay for the wall – I have to. I have been talking about it for a two year period,” But today, Trump said he “never said Mexico will pay for the wall.” (The guy is a pathological lying nutjob.)
TRUMP: “I know the fake news likes to say it, when, during the campaign, I would say Mexico’s going to pay for it. Obviously, Inever said this, and I never meant they’re going to write out a check,”
(1/10/2019)
But Trump did say “this” and Trump did mean ‘Mexico would write a check for it.’ In fact, on January 27, 2017 Trump begged Mexico’s President Nieto to stop saying Mexico will not pay for the wall. When Nieto refuse, Trump threatened to shutdown talks with Mexico if they kept saying they would not pay for the wall (sound familiar)
TRUMP: if you are going to say that Mexico is not going to pay for the wall, then I do not want to meet with you guys anymore because I cannot live with that.
(1/27/2017)
Nieto repeated Mexico will not pay for Trump’s wall and Trump begged him again to stop saying it to the press.
TRUMP: But the fact is we are both in a little bit of a political bind because I have to have Mexico pay for the wall – I have to. I have been talking about it for a two year period.
NIETO: ..my position has been and will continue to be very firm saying that Mexico cannot pay for that wall.
TRUMP: But you cannot say that to the press. The press is going to go with that and I cannot live with that. You cannot say that to the press because I cannot negotiate under those circumstances.
NIETO: ...when we start talking about the wall it prevents us from talking about other important issues that we must discuss.
TRUMP: Okay, Enrique, that is fine and I think it is fair. I do not bring up the wall but when the press brings up the wall, I will say, “let us see how it is going – let us see how it is working out with Mexico.” Because from an economic issue, it is the least important thing we were talking about, but psychologically, it means something so let us just say “we will work it out.” And if you want to do that, then we will go back to the negotiation table with Jared and Luis. And I am sure they can work something out that is good for both nations, and obviously that would be a positive thing.
In 2016, Trump told Sean Hannity on Fux News that he would get Mexico to pay for the wall and if he could not get Mexico to pay he (Trump) would come back and apologize
TRUMP: Well, look, we're going to have a border. It's going to be a real border, and we're going to build a wall and it's going to be a serious wall. And it's going to be a serious wall. Just remember that. And you remember I said it. And remember this also. Mexico, Sean, is going to pay for the wall.
Trump continues on and says if he can’t get Mexico to pay he’ll go back on Hannity and “apologize.”
TRUMP: You know, these politicians come up and they say, You don't really mean Mexico's going to pay. I'm a business guy. I've done unbelievable deals. You know, they talk about this deal, that deal. I've done hundreds of deals that are so good. Nobody ever wants to talk about the great deals. I've done unbelievable -- in fact, I filed my financials with the FE -- nobody believes how good they are, the federal elections. And you know, I'm very proud of it. And you can have -- we will have Mexico pay for that wall. And you know what? If I'm wrong about this, you can all come back. We'll have another meeting, and I'll apologize to you, OK?
In August 2015 Trump’s written platform titled “Make Mexico Pay Wall” Trump acknowledged that Trump expected Mexico to directly pay for the wall.
Mexico must pay for the wall and, until they do, the United States will, among other things: impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages; increase fees on all temporary visas issued to Mexican CEOs and diplomats (and if necessary cancel them); increase fees on all border crossing cards – of which we issue about 1 million to Mexican nationals each year (a major source of visa overstays); increase fees on all NAFTA worker visas from Mexico (another major source of overstays); and increase fees at ports of entry to the United States from Mexico [Tariffs and foreign aid cuts are also options]. We will not be taken advantage of anymore.
Trump never said, implied or suggested American families would foot the bill for his $25B campaign wall. Trump consistently said, “Mexico will pay for the wall 100% guarantee.”
In July 2015: Trump said “I will build the wall and Mexico’s going to pay for it and they will be happy to do it.”
Trump’s $25B campaign wall lie was always a ‘deal’ between Trump’s campaign and Mexico … and was never a ‘deal’ between Trump’s campaign and US taxpayers.
Trump is truly a pathologically lying nutbag who now, being true to form, is trying to claim he never “meant” that “Mexico would really pay for the wall.”
Now Trump is trying to force American families to give Trump a “$25Billion Taxpayer Bailout Fund” to fund and bailout Trump’s $25B lie.
Trump’s $25B lie: “Mexico will pay for the wall.”
The guy is phucking nuts!
