Cohen testified that Trump knew Roger Stone was working with Assange that means, Trump “coordinated” with Assange through Stone. Coordination is a crime, collusion is not.
Michael Cohen’s testimony
He was a presidential candidate who knew that Roger Stone was talking with Julian Assange about a WikiLeaks drop of Democratic National Committee emails.
In July 2016, days before the Democratic convention, I was in Mr. Trump's office when his secretary announced that Roger Stone was on the phone. Mr. Trump put Mr. Stone on the speakerphone. Mr. Stone told Mr. Trump that he had just gotten off the phone with Julian Assangeand that Mr. Assange told Mr. Stone that, within a couple of days, there would be a massive dump of emails that would damage Hillary Clinton's campaign.
Mr. Trump responded by stating to the effect of "wouldn't that be great."
Cohen said it was a phone call and phone records will be able to confirm if Roger Stone called Trump’s office on or around July 18, 2016.
GOP Rep. Thomas Massie (R-Ky) tried to deflect the media & the public by flipping the fact that Trump knew Stone was working with Assange, to Assange’s public comments on the dump.
No matter what Thomas Massie (R-Ky) thinks, the take-away is not whether Trump knew ‘when’ emails would be dumped, the take-away is Trump knew Roger Stone was working with Assange.
