When Putin Controls Mitch McConnell: GOP LIFT Sanctions Against Russians -- just as Putin ordered

Mitch McConnell will do anything for a buck — McConnell would have sold his mother for a dollar.  So what would Mitch McConnell give for Rubles that total $2.5Million US dollars? Answer is: America.

In 2015-16 election cycle, Mitch McConnell got $2.5 Million from Russian oligarch Leonard Blavatnik. Overall, the GOP campaigns got $7.5 Million from that same Russian.

For Mitch, with money comes control of others.  Mitch’s money is what allows him to control GOP in Congress.  Donald Trump does not control the GOP party; Mitch McConnell does.  McConnell merely lets people *think* Trump is in control.

Top recipients of Blavatnik’s GOP donations were: Mitch McConnell, Marco Rubio, and Lindsey Graham. Mitch McConnell’s Russian pal, Blavatnik, funneled money to Mitch & the GOP through Blavatnik’s companies:  Access Industries and AI Altep Holdings.

Leonard Blavatnik is a Big Oil dude but the most interesting thing about Leonard Blavatnik is his company Alfa Bank headquartered in Russia. Alfa Bank is a subsidiary of Leonard Blavatnik’s Alfa Group.

This week Mitch McConnell protected Vladimir Putin by lifting sanctions against the Russian oligarch who helped Putin commit what Dick Cheney called: “an Act of War against America” in 2016.  Mitch McConnell and the GOP are doing Putin’s bidding right in our faces and we shake our heads and ask: Why? WTF is going on?  But the answer is so simple and only one word: money.

As I describe below, Mitch McConnell’s record shows he does not give one damn about policy — not one damn — there is no policy that McConnell has ever given one damn about and that’s why you can never count on a ‘consistent McConnell’ voting record.  The only thing McConnell consistently treasures is money. Russian money, Italian money, US money … McConnell could not care less who gives him money, so long as it’s lots of money that he’s getting he’ll do any goddamn thing the ‘giver’ tells him to. In some circles, McConnell is called a paid whore (but I think that gives whores a bad name).  Case in point: Russia.

This diary will give a short outline of how just one Russian oligarch, Leonard Blavatnik, out of many, purchased Mitch McConnell, the GOP, and America.  This diary will highlight:

In 2015-16 election cycle,

  • a Russian computer server belonging to a subsidiary of Leonard Blavatnik’s Alfa Group, Alfa Bank, covertly communicated with Trump Tower at an unusual & extremely high rate.
  • Leonard Blavatnik donated/gave $2.5Million to Mitch McConnell.
  • Overall, Leonard Blavatnik donated/gave $7.5 Million to the GOP.

1. Leonard Blavatnik’s Russian Computer Servers covertly in Trump Tower

Mysteriously, Alfa Bank servers were in Trump Tower making all kinds of “noise” during the 2016 election. Alfa Bank’s computers were looking up the address of the Trump server nearly every day during 2015-16.  Journalist Dexter Filkins at the New Yorker interviewed a computer scientist named Max who had investigated the “noise” from Alfa Bank in Trump Tower.

Max concluded the Alfa Bank server at Trump Tower “was a covert communication channel.”

The New Yorker wrote:

Examining records for the Trump domain, Max’s group discovered D.N.S. lookups from a pair of servers owned by Alfa Bank, one of the largest banks in Russia. Alfa Bank’s computers were looking up the address of the Trump server nearly every day. There were dozens of lookups on some days and far fewer on others, but the total number was notable: between May and September, Alfa Bank looked up the Trump Organization’s domain more than two thousand times.“We were watching this happen in real time—it was like watching an airplane fly by,” Max said. “And we thought, Why the hell is a Russian bank communicating with a server that belongs to the Trump Organization, and at such a rate?”

2. Erik Prince, Betsy DeVos, & Betsy’s husband’s Computer Server covertly in Trump Tower

Also interesting is that brother and sister team, Erik Prince & Betsy DeVos, are connected to another server, Spectrum Health, that was making mysterious “noise” on Trump Tower server.   And interesting still is that Erik Prince and Betsy (Prince) DeVos, their parents & DeVos parent in-laws all have a decades & decades long connection to Mitch McConnellPaul Manafort, Roger Stone, Russian Laszlo Pasztor and USSR-lover Paul Weyrich.  In fact, the Russians connected to the GOP, Trump, and many of Trump’s campaign people is very, very, very, long and dates back to at least 1979 when Russia was the USSR — but that topic is for a different diary.

3. Leonard Blavatnik’s & DeVos’ Computer Servers engaged in “covert communication”

Dexter Filkins reported that DeVos/Prince’s Spectrum Health server was very active on Trump Tower server.

Only one other entity seemed to be reaching out to the Trump Organization’s domain with any frequency: Spectrum Health, of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Spectrum Health is closely linked to the DeVos family; Richard DeVos, Jr., is the chairman of the board, and one of its hospitals is named after his mother. His wife, Betsy DeVos, was appointed Secretary of Education by Donald Trump. Her brother, Erik Prince, is a Trump associate who has attracted the scrutiny of Robert Mueller, the special counsel investigating Trump’s ties to Russia. Mueller has been looking into Prince’s meeting, following the election, with a Russian official in the Seychelles, at which he reportedly discussed setting up a back channel between Trump and the Russian President, Vladimir Putin. (Prince maintains that the meeting was “incidental.”) In the summer of 2016, Max and the others weren’t aware of any of this. “We didn’t know who DeVos was,”Max said.  After analyzing the data, Max said, “We decided this was a covert communication channel.

Filkins goes on to write that other computer science experts

As Lichtblau talked to experts, he became increasingly convinced that the data suggested a substantive connection. “Not only is there clearly something there but there’s clearly something that someone has gone to great lengths to conceal,” he told me. Jean Camp, of Indiana University, had also vetted some of the data. “These people who should not be communicating are clearly communicating,

4. Mitch McConnell’s sells-out America to Putin

In August 2016 election, Mitch McConnell refused to sign a bipartisan letter acknowledging that Putin ordered the Russian Military, GRU, to engage in cyber-attacks against America.  The Washington Post reported:

an intelligence bombshell, a report drawn from sourcing deep inside the Russian government that detailed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s direct involvement in a cyber campaign to disrupt and discredit the U.S. presidential race.

But it went further. The intelligence captured Putin’s specific instructions on the operation’s audacious objectives — defeat or at least damage the Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton, and help elect her opponent, Donald Trump.

In September 2016, President Obama called a classified meeting between the FBI, Homeland Security, and 12 members of Congress including Mitch McConnell.  Washington Post writes

“The Dems were, ‘Hey, we have to tell the public,’” recalled one participant. But Republicans resisted, arguing that to warn the public that the election was under attack would further Russia’s aim of sapping confidence in the system.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) went further, officials said, voicing skepticism that the underlying intelligence truly supported the White House’s claims. Through a spokeswoman, McConnell declined to comment, citing the secrecy of that meeting.

To protect Putin, the only document Mitch McConnell would agree to sign and put out for the public was a document if, and only if, it left out Putin’s name and left out Russia.  And that’s what happened, the only document McConnell agreed to sign stated, in part,

“We urge the states to take full advantage of the robust public and private sector resources available to them to ensure that their network infrastructure is secure from attack,”

5. Mitch McConnell’s sole driving force is money & he does not give one damn about “policy”

No one can name one single policy that Mitch McConnell is passionate about.  Not one. And no one can name a single policy that Mitch McConnell consistently votes on.  Not one. That’s because Mitch McConnell does not, and never has, given damn about policy — McConnell’s sole driving force is money.

For Mitch, with money comes control of others.  Mitch’s money is what allows him to control GOP in Congress.

Mitch McConnell sues to eliminate and get rid of: McCain-Finegold Campaign Reform Act

Mitch McConnell loves money so much that in 2003 he spearheaded a lawsuit, McConnell v. FEC whereby Mitch McConnell sued the McCain-Finegold Campaign Reform Act that would limit the amount of money corporations (and Russian oligarchs) can donate to political campaigns.  That lawsuit, McConnell v. FEC, went all the way to the Supreme Court and McConnell won.

It is the fact that McConnell has no “policy” object that causes Kentucky voters hate McConnell.  Kentucky voters have hated McConnell for decades.  McConnell’s approval rating toggles between low 20’s and mid 20s.  So how does McConnell keep getting re-elected?  There’s only two combined reasons McConnell gets reelected: money plus Democrats always put up a crappy candidate.

Mitch McConnell has no policy objective and inconsistent voting record

Again, if you look at McConnell’s legislative record you will see that McConnell has no policy objective at all.  None.  For example: one year he’ll vote against farmers & the next year he’ll vote for them.  Why?  Money.

Mitch McConnell has been vile SOB who votes against hard working American since at least 1985. As a result, in 1985 Big Agi, started buying up mom & pop farms that had foreclosed. Big Agi wanted big breaks at banks for their loans so, in 1986, Mitch McConnell voted for ‘farmers’ but McConnell’s vote was not for mom & pop farmers; McConnell’s vote was to help Big Agi farmers buying mom & pop’s farms.

Mitch admits that for decades he’s done nothing to eliminate/slow-down Kentucky high poverty rate

Mitch McConnell does not care that Kentucky has one of the highest poverty rates in the country.  Seriously, he does not care.  McConnell admits that for decades he’s done nothing to eliminate or even slow-down Kentucky high poverty rate. I can guarantee you that since McConnell does not give one damn how high Kentucky’s poverty rate gets, he sure as hell does not give a damn how high the nation’s poverty rate gets.

In 2018, Mitch McConnell conceded to McClatchy News that

“yes, Kentucky lags behind the national average in health care, median income, and poverty in Eastern Kentucky are the highest poverty rates in the country.”

"You're talking about persistent problems that we've had for decades,"McConnell said of the state's troubles. "A fair question to ask would be 'Would we better off without having the Republican leader of the Senate?' and the answer is clearly, 'No.'"

"All 100 senators may have one vote," McConnell explained, "but they’re not all equal. Kentucky benefits from having one of its own setting the agenda for the country."

Given the fact that Kentucky has one of the highest poverty rates in the country; a poverty rate that has been “persistently high poverty rate for decades,” (clearly on Mitch’s 34 year watch) Mitch is wrong, Kentucky has not benefited one bit from “having one of its own setting the agenda for the country."

When McConnell gave that interview, McConnell had been in office for 34 years and he almost brags when he admits that he has not done one goddamn thing to eradicate or even slow-down Kentucky’s massive and persistent high poverty rate that has been a “persistent problem for decades.”

Like I said, McConnell does not give one damn about “policy” not even policies on poverty evidence by his own state’s high poverty rate for decades.

In the same McClatchy article, one of McConnell public-ass-lickers, Scott Jennings, bragged that McConnell cares about money, not policy.

“There’s a reason the sign in front of the Republican Party of Kentucky headquarters says the 'Mitch McConnell Building,'” said Scott Jennings, a Republican political consultant who once worked for the senator. “Kentucky has tracked Republican right along with the trajectory of McConnell’s career."

McConnell ‘s efforts, he said, include recruiting and raising money for candidates, with his cash-rich political action committees contributing to nearly every Republican state house candidate.

Younger Republican candidates don’t remember a time when every race was a struggle, when raising every dollar was a struggle,” Jennings said.

Fast forward to Putin.

In the case of Putin attacking America in 2016: one year, in 2017, McConnell voted to place sanctions on Russia, the very next year (this year), he voted to lift them. Why?  Money.  Some Russian somewhere must be promising to giving him more money.

McConnell is protecting Putin in exchange for money.

Yes, Mitch McConnell is traitor against America.

Mitch McConnell would sell his own mother for a GD dollar — and, in my view, Mitch McConnell has sold America to Russians for $2.5 Million dollars.

President Thomas Jefferson purchased the Louisiana Territory for a total of $15 Million ($600 Million in today’s dollar).  Mitch McConnell sells the entire country for $2.5 Million.

Let that sink in ….
