Wayne LaPierre, who is head of the NRA implied today that people with equal firepower don't die -- yet -- LaPierre had to surround himself with armed guards today because obviously LaPierre doesn't even believe his own bullshit.
LaPierre: "The only thing that stops a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun,"LaPierre started by saying that "gun-free zones" cause mass murder, not the easy access to assault weapons.
LaPierre: Politicians pass laws for gun free school zones ... And, in doing so, they tell every insane killer in America that schools are the safest place to inflict maximum mayhem with minimum risk.But wait, aren't the buildings of Congress 'gun-free zones?'
Is LaPierre going to demand that those gun-barrel sucking politicians he buys pass a law lifting the ban on carrying loaded AK-47's in the buildings of Congress?
Then, without meaning to, LaPierre explained exactly why America needs to ban assault weapons.
LAPIERRE: The truth is, that our society is populated by an unknown number of genuine monsters. People that are so deranged, so evil, so possessed by voices and driven by demons, that no sane person can every possibly comprehend them. They walk among us every single day, and does anybody really believe that the next Adam Lanza isn’t planning his attack on a school, he’s already identified at this very moment?Exactly, there are deranged people in America who are planning mass murders and who can easily go out and buy as many assault weapons as they please and as many assault magazines as they please -- so clearly we need to Ban those weapons so we can reduce the number of murders by assault weapons as we can.
