History shows that the Founding Fathers were violent protesters against the King and against those who worked for the King.  And, it’s a damn good thing they did not stop their violent protests even though they were being chastised & demonized by the King’s loyalists.

To give a few examples:

1765 — The Stamp Act:

Stamp Act gave rise to the Founding Fathers harassing the King’s tax collectors.  In fact, at the time, the Founders were harassing the tax collectors so vehemently that a political cartoon showing a King’s tax collector being tarred, feathered, and forced to drink tea by a group of rebellious colonists was published in a British newspaper. The tone of the cartoon suggests that the British artist was pissed at the Founders so the artist exaggerated the violence the Founders were engaging in. (No tax collector was really tarred & feathered).

Now, even though no tax collector was really tarred and feathered, the Founders really were violently harassing the tax collectors so the King finally sent military men to Boston (which gave rise to the Boston Massacre, discussed below).

1765 — Founder publicly threatened to kill King George:

In May 1765 in Virginia, Founder Patrick Henry made an incendiary speech before the House of Burgesses where he implied the colonists would kill him if he continued to be a tyrant against the colonists.  At which time, loyalists to the King accused Patrick Henry of “treason.”

Patrick Henry: “Caesar had his Brutus, Charles the First his Cromwell and George the Third may profit by their example. If this be treason, make the most of it."

1765 — Violent protests & death threats over the Stamp Act:

August 1765: Andrew Oliver, who agreed to administer the Stamp Act for King George, was hanged in effigy from a giant elm tree in Boston.  That same night, the Founders ransacked Oliver’s office and home.  The Smithsonian writes:

Early in the morning of August 14, Bostonians discovered the effigy hanging from the tree. Initials pinned to the effigy, “A.O.,” identified it as Andrew Oliver, the Boston merchant who had agreed to collect the stamp tax. Next to him dangled a boot, a reference to Lord Bute, the former British prime minister whom many colonists blamed for the act. A small devil figure peeked up from inside the boot, holding a copy of the law. “What Greater Joy did ever New England see,” read a sign that hanged from one of the effigy’s arms, “Than a Stampman hanging on a Tree!

1767 —  Townshend Act

The Townshend Act gave rise to the founder’s protests becoming even more violent against the King and against those working for the King.

1768 — Founders burned the King’s Customs Commissioner’s boat

In 1768, the King George had John Hancock’s ship impounded so the protesters seized a customs commissioner’s boat, dragged it from the dock to the Liberty Tree, condemned it at a mock trial there, then burned it on Boston Common.

1770 — Founders violently attack King’s soldiers (Boston Massacre)

Colonists in Boston physically attacked British soldiers who were there to enforce the King’s laws.  The colonists shouted insults at British soldiers and threw rocks and sticks at them.  The British soldiers shot at the protesters, killing five and wounding several others.

1774 — Founders tar and feather one of the King’s customs officials

In 1774, angry colonists tarred and feathered Captain John Malcom, a British customs official, for caning a shoemaker, then took him to the Liberty Tree, where they put a noose around his neck and threatened to hang him unless he cursed the governor.

1775 — Founders take up arms against the King’s army

Revolutionary war begins in April 1765.

So, what would the Founders do?

Would the Founders have loudly protested against Kirstjen Nielsen & Stephen Miller while they were eating dinner at a Mexican restaurant?  Yes … HELL YES!!!

Would the Founders have quietly told Sarah Huckabee Sanders to leave a restaurant because she enables Trump’s fascist/heinous policies & tells malicious, harmful lies to The People directly from The People’s White House?  Yes … HELL YES!!!

Would the Founders stop protesting establishments where Trump’s people go, and stop asking Trump’s people to leave just because Trump’s loyalists are mad at them & demonize them? No … HELL NO!!!

And, who knows, as violent as the Founder’s protested, maybe they would have even tarred & feathered a few of Trump’s people?
